The Canadian population is expected to grow by over 1.3 million between 2022 and 2024. The Global Goal Group Team works diligently to simplify the migration process so that you can secure Canadian permanent residence.

Canada's Easiest Migration Routes

A person's unique profile or ties to the country may determine the best method for immigrating to Canada. Currently, Canadian immigration targets are at an all-time high, so begin the journey. One thing to keep in mind is that there is no one straightforward procedure for immigrating to Canada. You may find some programs easier to apply to, but the application procedure can be lengthy and involves numerous steps. It takes a considerable amount of commitment and sacrifice to immigrate to Canada, both financially and emotionally. However, the outcome is well worth it. A positive attitude toward immigration is known for making Canada one of the best countries for quality of life. The following are the four most popular ways for overseas immigrants to migrate to Canada:

Express Entry

Amongst the most popular and fastest immigration programs in Canada, the Canadian Express Entry Program takes the lead. Permanent residency can be obtained within six months for candidates using Express Entry. As part of Express Entry, Canada expects to accept more than 240,000 new immigrants over the next three years:

  • Federal Skilled Worker (FSW)
  • Canadian Experience Class (CEC)
  • Federal Skilled Trades (FST)

A candidate who wants to apply to Express Entry must submit an online profile, which is scored according to Canada's Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS). Prior to establishing an Express Entry profile, you must first meet the eligibility requirements for one of Canada's top three federal pathways. In response, the Canadian government invites the candidates in the Express Entry pool with the highest scores to apply for permanent residency.

For some candidates eligible to submit a profile, Express Entry may be the most convenient avenue to get to Canada. Federal draws can prove challenging if you have difficulty meeting the CRS cut-off. Even if you do not qualify for permanent residence, your name may be placed in the pool of candidates. For a single applicant, the cost of immigrating to Canada through Express Entry is roughly 2,300 Canadian dollars, while for a couple, the price is about 4,500 Canadian dollars. The settlement funds are not included in this calculation, which must also be included as part of the eligibility requirements, depending on the size of the family. We encourage you to visit our Express Entry page for information on submitting your profile and how to improve your ranking within the pool.

Provincial Nominee Programs

Throughout the pandemic, there was no change in provinces in their nomination of overseas workers to go to Canada as permanent residents. There are 83,500 foreign nationals due to join Canada through the Parent-to-Child PNP program this year. It is worth noting that Canada's ten provinces and three territories offer numerous programs for nominees. There are unique eligibility requirements for each of the nominee programs. It is necessary to be connected to the province to apply for nomination in many instances. In some cases, however, some programs only invite candidates who can meet the local labour market needs based solely on the quality of their experience.

As a result of the PNPs operating according to various processing timelines, the applications are processed according to the set time frame. Candidate nominees will not be able to apply for Canadian permanent residence until they've submitted a permanent residence application to the federal government. It will depend on the PNP's adherence to the Express Entry system and whether it takes time to process the permanent residence application. It is usually the exact cost for Canadian citizenship via a PNP compared to Express Entry, with a few minor differences, depending on the province. PNP applications are not charged in certain regions, such as Quebec. As far as Ontario is concerned, PNP applications can cost up to 1,500 Canadian dollars.

Business Immigration

The easiest way to immigrate to Canada, if you have experience managing the business you own or have operated for several years, may be to take advantage of a federal or provincial program for business immigration. Several immigration programs are available through the federal government for people who plan to operate their businesses or become self-employed in Canada. In addition to the PNPs mentioned above, several PNPs designed explicitly for overseas candidates hoping to start businesses in a specific province of Canada. In most business immigration programs, you are expected to make a significant investment in your business to become a permanent resident of Canada. The amount required will vary according to the specific program. In some PNPs, regional entrepreneurial programs require less investment for candidates looking to establish businesses in less populated areas.

Sponsorship

The simplest way to immigrate to Canada is likely through family sponsorship if you have one or more qualifying family members who are Canadian citizens or permanent residents. As a permanent resident or citizen of the country, you may bring your family members to Canada through one of the many immigration programs offered by Canada. Through its corporate sponsorship programs, the provinces and territories will be able to welcome up to 105,000 new permanent residents this year. There is an opportunity for you to qualify for sponsorship if a spouse, child, grandchild, or another immediate family member of the sponsor is a permanent resident or citizen of Canada. Sponsoring a relative is most likely to cost you between $1,135 and $1,350, and this is the case even in the most extreme cases. It should be noted that Quebec residents or intending Quebec residents are subject to additional fees. A sponsor's application will take a specific time to process depending on how much of a time commitment they can commit. The time needed to process spousal sponsorship applications varies from start to finish, but it is typically about 12 months.

A Guide to Economic and Business Immigration

Canada's economic and business immigration program allows qualified professionals to contribute their skills to its economic growth. There is no one-size-fits-all description to describe each program in a way that applies to all since the qualification requirements vary widely from program to program. In general, economic and business immigration fall into the following categories:

  • Provincial Nominee Programs
  • Express Entry
  • Quebec Immigration
  • Investor Programs
  • Entrepreneur and Self-Employed Programs

There are still several federal immigration categories that can be considered under the umbrella of economic immigration to Canada, such as the Caregivers Program, the Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program, the Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot Program, and the Agri-Food Pilot Program.

Family Sponsorship

An immigrant sponsored by a family member who is a Canadian citizen or permanent resident qualifies for family sponsorship. Sponsorship is open to all members of a family:

  • Spouse or common-law/conjugal partner
  • Dependent child (adopted or biological)
  • Parents and grandparents

In certain circumstances, sponsoring family members outside the categories above may be possible. You may support the following relatives if you do not have any other eligible relatives:

  • Orphaned brother or sister
  • Orphaned nephew or niece
  • Orphaned grandchild

How Much Money Do You Need?

It costs approximately $2,300 to immigrate to Canada for a single applicant or roughly $4,500 for a couple. In addition to the above amount, many Canadian immigration candidates must submit settlement funds as proof of financial stability; the amount varies with the size of the family, starting at about CAD 13,000 for an individual. The candidate may pay additional fees if they apply through a provincial program.

If you have an offer of employment in Canada or are applying under the Canadian Experience Class, there is no need to submit proof of your settlement funds. Regardless of which type of immigration you choose, you will need to make a significant investment in Canada.

Specific criteria can assess an applicant for a loan, requiring the applicant to invest in a Canadian company or make an interest-free loan to the federal or provincial government.

Sponsoring a spouse or dependent child usually is not time-consuming since you do not have to provide financial information. You must meet a specific funding requirement if you support another family member, such as a parent or grandparent.

The Requirements to Immigrate to Canada

The minimum eligibility requirements for each immigration program vary. Applicants must verify their eligibility before initiating the application process. Several documents should be submitted to verify your employment history, education, identification, and criminal and medical background when you apply to the Canadian government. Required documentation varies by programme. It is essential that, before determining which immigration program you should pursue, you decide which documents you will need.

The Maximum Age for Canadian Immigration

The age requirement for Canadian immigration programs is not specific. However, most economic immigration categories award maximum points to those between 25 and 35.

But older applicants aren't automatically disqualified. Suppose you have significant work experience, an advanced language proficiency, connections to Canada, and advanced education. In that case, those benefits can easily offset the disadvantage of your age on an economic immigration application. There is no ranking system in the issue of family sponsorship and humanitarian immigration, so there are no penalties associated with age in these programs.
