DLI is a list of universities and institutions that have been approved by Canada for a student visa. International students have to obtain their study permit using the SSD program. The Direct Student Admission Program (SDS) is a simple application process for getting a study permit in Canada.

According to Canadian law, students need the following items to get a study permit via SSD:

  • Certificate of admission from a university that is on the DLI list.
  • Certificate in English or French
  • Proof of financial stability to pay for your education and living in Canada
  • Medical examination documents

Step by step to get a Canadian student visa:

Step one: Discovering Your Purpose

Start by researching top universities and majors in Canada. Then check the websites of selected universities and choose the most suitable course for you. After completing the required documents by the university, send the application for admission to the desired university so that the letter of acceptance from the university will be sent to you.

Step 2: Pay the tuition

After receiving the letter of acceptance, you must pay the tuition as said by the university. After receiving the tuition, the university will send you a receipt that is required to apply for your student visa.

Step 3: Purchase a GIC (Guaranteed Investment Certificate)

For students, purchasing a special Guaranteed Investment Certificate (GIC) from any of the certified banks such as: Nova Scotia Bank, ICICI Bank, SBI Bank of Canada, CIBC Bank in the amount of 10200 (Canadian dollars) to guarantee the cost of living is necessary. Upon arrival in Canada, students receive $ 2000. The next $ 8000 will be paid to students in equal installments each month.

Step 4: Medical examinations

You must have a medical examination under the supervision of a doctor approved by the Canadian Government. A medical receipt is required to apply for a visa. Of course, the medical report is automatically sent to the visa office.
