So that students can get their degree from countries like United Kingdom by passing the combined courses in Malaysia.


Education system in Malaysia :


Education in Malaysia starts from pre-school. The government is responsible for a proper education system and education in pre-school up to high school is under supervision of ministry of education. Higher education in Malaysia contains bachelor’s degree, master’s degree and PhD. The goal of Malaysia in higher education is to become the center of educational excellence in the world.


Study bachelor’s degree in Malaysia :


Bachelor’s degree in Malaysia takes 3 to 4 years. To get admission from universities of Malaysia in this level, your high school and pre-university GPA is highly valued. To get admission in some universities of Malaysia having a GPA higher than 17 is necessary. However, in general having English language

certificate to pass the courses isn’t mandatory. In case of not having an English language certificate, there are some courses of English available in universities of Malaysia to attend.


Study master’s degree in Malaysia :


To get admission for master’s degree, bachelor’s degree and English language certificate is necessary. Certain universities require an average GPA of 14 or higher in undergraduate and also acceptable band score in English skill tests (6.5 band score in IELTS). Master’s degree in Malaysia takes 2 to 3 years.


study for PHD in Malaysia :


Getting admission in this level needs all university and language skill certificates and also a resume and motivation letter (SOP). Normally getting accepted in this level requires a GPA of 15 or higher and your IELTS band score must be 7. This course takes 3 to 5 years in Malaysia.


Work while studying in Malaysia :


International students studying in Malaysia are allowed to work part time. According to the law of Malaysia, students can work maximum amount of 20 hours a week. Before starting, the student should notify the student visa officer at the International Office.


Tuition fees in Malaysia :


Tuition fee in universities of Malaysia are different due to having combined and transitional courses in universities. Yearly tuitions for undergraduate is on average 7000 MYR and for master’s is approximately 11000 MYR. Private universities and universities affiliated with foreign universities have higher tuition fees.


Living expenses in Malaysia :


Living expenses in Malaysia in lower comparing to countries like America or England. This living expense is something between 10000 to 15000 MYR yearly which includes food, trips and accommodation. Of course living expenses in big cities like Kuala Lumpur is more than small cities.

Step by step getting a Malaysian student visa :


Step one : Getting a certificate of acceptance from the selected university

After research and review of courses and universities in Malaysia, select the course you want. Send out the required documents and receive the certificate of acceptance from the university.

Step two: visa approval letter (VAL) from Malaysian immigration agency Required documents for VAL:

  1. University admission certificate
  2. Passport (passport mustn’t be less than 24 months old)
  3. Passport picture
  4. Medical examination form
  5. Visa application fee (this fee is not the same in all universities and the amount of it is mentioned in admission certificate.)


Step three : Single Entry Visa (SEV) application


To get the application you must send following documents to the embassy of Malaysia in your country:

  • Copy of university admission certificate
  • Copy of Visa Approval Letter (VAL)
  • Passport and its copy
  • Passport picture
  • Flight ticket to Malaysia
